Fleetwood RV and Prilosec OTC Hit the Road With New Marketing
Agreement P&G Selects Fleetwood RV to Help Drive Sales of New
OTC Heartburn Medication RIVERSIDE, Calif. and CINCINNATI, Dec. 15
/PRNewswire/ -- Fleetwood RV and Procter & Gamble today
announced a partnership agreement for the marketing launch of
Prilosec OTC, a non-prescription frequent heartburn medication.
"P&G is thrilled to be partnering with another industry leader
like Fleetwood RV," said Scott Mautz, Brand Manager for Prilosec
OTC. "Their team of innovative experts is exactly what P&G is
looking for to help launch Prilosec OTC." Under the agreement, a
highly customized Fleetwood RV painted Prilosec purple will be
prominently featured in a number of P&G marketing initiatives
over the next year, including television, print and web
advertising. The Fleetwood Southwind Class-A luxury motor home was
recently used for the "Burntown Challenge," a 14-day, 24-city
promotional tour for the new medication. "Fleetwood is always
looking for innovative ways to further its marketing efforts," said
Chris Braun, Senior Vice President of Fleetwood RV. "This
partnership is a significant opportunity to showcase the quality
and creativity that goes into every RV we build." The agreement
also includes the use of two Fleetwood RVs for a sustained mobile
marketing tour that is anticipated to end in December 2004. About
Prilosec OTC Prilosec OTC, marketed exclusively by Procter &
Gamble, is now available in food, drug, mass, and club stores in
the U.S. Prilosec (omeprazole), one of the world's top-selling
prescription drugs in its class, is now available over-the-counter
as Prilosec OTC for the treatment of frequent heartburn, with one
pill taken a day for 14 days. Prilosec OTC is the first of a new
class of OTC medicines that works differently from every other
non-prescription heartburn medication. It shuts down active pumps
at the source of stomach acid-production. Prilosec OTC became
available on store shelves across the country in September of this
year and is being brought to the over-the-counter market through an
alliance between Procter & Gamble Company and AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca will continue to market and sell prescription Prilosec
and its other acid inhibitor, Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium) for
the treatment of heartburn associated with gastroesophageal disease
