(NYSE:FRK) announced today that a special meeting of shareholders will be held on August 14, 2007 at 9:00 a.m., local time, at Florida Rock�s headquarters located at 155 East 21st Street in Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of the special meeting is to vote on the proposed merger with Vulcan Materials Company pursuant to the Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated as of February 19, 2007, as amended on April 9, 2007.
