Hospira Names Ken Meyers to Lead Human Resources

LAKE FOREST, Ill., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hospira, Inc.
(NYSE:HSP), a global specialty pharmaceutical and medication
delivery company, announced today that Ken Meyers has been named
senior vice president, Organizational Transformation and People
Development. In this capacity, he will lead the global human
resources function with a focus on advancing Hospira's
high-performance culture and organizational excellence. Meyers
succeeds Henry Weishaar, who is retiring Dec. 31, 2008, and will
report directly to Christopher Begley, chairman and chief executive
officer. "Ken's extensive cross-industry experience in operations
and human resources, combined with his track record of building
team-based environments that align with the company's culture and
vision, will be integral to Hospira as we nurture a climate that
fosters innovation and supports significant global market
expansion," said Begley. "Hospira's employees are our greatest

this important function to Ken." Most recently, Meyers, 46, was a
partner at Oliver Wyman, an international management consulting
firm. A specialist in leadership development, Meyers has extensive
experience working with senior teams in facilitating their
acceleration to high performance, and has served as a principal
consultant and coach to senior executives at well-known companies
such as Amgen, L'Oreal, Nike, Novartis, Time Warner, Sara Lee and
Unilever. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Meyers was senior vice
president, Human Resources, Starbucks Coffee International, leading
human resources strategy and direction as Starbucks expanded
internationally through company-owned, licensed and joint-venture
operations. Throughout his more than 20-year career in global human
resources and senior-line management, he also held various
leadership positions with Disney, Gymboree and United Technologies.
Meyers earned his bachelor's degree in International Business and
Human Resources Management from the Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania, and his master's of business
