Debra J. Nelson, MGM MIRAGE VP, Recognized as a Top African-American Executive LAS VEGAS, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Debra J. Nelson, MGM MIRAGE Vice President of Corporate Diversity, Communications and Community Affairs, has been named among Black Professionals magazine's list of "Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America." Nelson was selected by Black Professionals magazine based on criteria that included level of responsibility, commitment to the community, and accomplishments that demonstrate a high standard of excellence and innovation. Under Nelson's leadership, MGM MIRAGE has been named to national lists for its diversity best practices. For example, the company was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as one of the "Top 40 Companies for Diversity," named one of the "50 Best Companies for Latinas" by LATINA Style Magazine, and ranked among the "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" by DiversityInc magazine. She also led the reconstruction of the company's diversity website, which subsequently was recognized among the leading Internet sites for diversity content by Diversity Best Practices and The Business Women's Network. Nelson is a founding board member of the Chief Diversity Officers Roundtable (CDO) at Cornell University.
