(Nasdaq: CA) today announced that IDG's InfoWorld named MGM MIRAGE (NYSE: MGM) one of the 100 IT organizations that have implemented and integrated technologies in innovative ways in pursuit of concrete business goals. The InfoWorld 100 Awards recognized the MGM MIRAGE for centralizing the management and governance of its 100,000-plus IT assets and services using the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) best-practices framework on a backbone of CA Enterprise IT Management solutions implemented by CA Services.

In the gaming, hospitality and entertainment industry, customer loyalty is highly dependent on the quality of service guests receive. At the MGM MIRAGE, one of the world's leading and most respected companies in its industry, customers expect quality entertainment, luxurious facilities and exceptional guest services. Since the guest experience is highly dependent on the MGM MIRAGE's IT infrastructure, the company needed to ensure the availability and performance of its 100,000-plus IT assets and related services.

To address these requirements, the MGM MIRAGE chose to team with CA on an integrated approach to Enterprise IT Management. An MGM Mirage/CA Services team implemented several CA Infrastructure Management and Service Management products to streamline the MGM MIRAGE's support processes and enhance its response to the 7,000 IT incidents reported per week, before they impact guests. The MGM MIRAGE also deployed CA's Project & Portfolio Management solution to prioritize and deliver IT projects that best align with its business objectives.

In particular, CA's solutions have reduced downtime on the business applications that underpin the MGM MIRAGE's guest services, as well as other services. They also have helped the MGM MIRAGE track its capital expenditure on new assets and projects, allowing the company to make better investment decisions, and ensure that the projects associated with these investments are completed on time.
