LAS VEGAS, July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Women's
Leadership Conference announces its 2014 program featuring two days
of keynote speakers, breakout sessions, luncheons and networking
opportunities. The conference, themed "Women Inspiring Women," will
be held Aug. 6 & 7 at the MGM
Grand Conference Center in Las
Vegas.
Award-winning TV journalist Soledad
O'Brien will kick off Thursday morning as the keynote
speaker. Attendees will also get up close and personal with CNN
International anchor Natalie Allen,
who will emcee the event.
On Aug. 6, Allen will moderate a
lively discussion panel profiling "Women in Leadership." Top women
executives slated for the panel are Pat
Mulroy, former general manager of the Las Vegas Valley Water
District; Wendy Davidson, President
of U.S. Specialty Channels at The Kellogg Company; and
Jean Birch, former President of IHOP
Restaurants and Romano's Macaroni Grill.
After the general session, custom-designed learning tracks will
offer attendees tools that fit their individual career development
needs. Tracks include Emerging Leader, Emerging Executive, and
Executive.
Several workshops are scheduled for Wednesday, including
"Managing Your Reputation: What They Say When You're Not
There," and "You've Leaned In, Now Lean Out." Another breakout
session will give tips on why and how people get, keep and
move ahead in coveted jobs. Attendees can also learn about the
global economy and strategies for managing change during turbulent
times, as well as how to set expectations to maximize working
relationships.
Wednesday evening will feature a special celebration reception
that will allow guests to mingle and network. Thursday afternoon
will be filled with more track breakout sessions, including:

- Practical Leadership: Bridging the Gap Between Knowing and
Doing
- The Essentials of Leadership: Developing Your Emotional
Intelligence
- The Power of Social Media
- Women: The Next Emerging Economy
Prominent Nevada women
Catherine Cortez Masto, Nevada Attorney General, and Rosemary A. Vassiliadis, Clark County Director of
Aviation, will participate in an
afternoon panel titled "Women Leading Dynamic Organizations,"
followed by the closing of the conference.
The Women's Leadership Conference, in its eighth year, is open
to women of all professions, job levels and social backgrounds,
locally and nationally, and men who support women. Conference
registration is available at $350 per
person.
The non-profit MGM Resorts Foundation is the conference's
presenting sponsor and will partner with the nationally renowned
Women's Food Service Forum (WFF), the food industry's premier
women's leadership development organization. Proceeds of the
conference after costs will be donated to one or more local
nonprofit agencies devoted to the welfare and development of women
and girls.
