MGM Promotes Michael Moore to Vice President - Intellectual
Property Group LOS ANGELES, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. has promoted attorney Michael
Moore to Vice President - Intellectual Property Group, announced

"Michael is a dedicated and tremendously valuable member of our
intellectual-property legal team," said Rakow, to whom Moore
reports. "MGM pursues a vigorous program of protecting and
enforcing its copyrights and trademarks, and Michael is a leader in
these important efforts." MGM hired Moore in 1995 to conduct
copyright research on MGM's film library. Shortly thereafter, Moore
joined the Intellectual Property Group and in November, 1998 was
put in charge of the group. As head of the Intellectual Property
Group, Moore is responsible for protecting MGM's intellectual
property assets, including the world's largest library of modern
films and a trademark portfolio with some of the world's best-known
properties, including the MGM Lion, United Artists, the Pink
Panther and Rocky. Moore also represents MGM on several Motion
Picture Association of America committees, including the Copyright
Experts Working Group, the Law Committee, the Copyright Term
Extension Working Group and the Digital Cinema Working Group. Moore
received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of
California - Santa Barbara, and his Juris Doctor degree in 1995
from Southwestern University School of Law, where he was managing
