India's Infosys Technologies Ltd. (500209.BY) Wednesday said it has acquired the software solutions business of Gen-i as part of a partnership with the technology arm of Telecom Corp. of New Zealand Ltd. (TEL.NZ) to offer outsourcing services for their Australian clients.

Under the deal, Infosys has offered positions to Gen-i's more than 110 employees and contractors, who will continue to be based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, the Indian company said in a statement.

The additional staff from Gen-i will expand Infosys' New Zealand team to more than 150 people, it said. The company said it also plans to immediately hire an additional 15-30 people there.

The partnership will be undertaken by Infosys Australia and New Zealand, and Gen-i, the company said.

Infosys also said the current software solutions management team will continue to lead the New Zealand office for the company.
