Cedar Shopping Centers Inc. (CDR) said Paul Kirk Jr. has been
re-elected to its board, effective June 1.
Kirk was on the panel for four years until his September
appointment to succeed Edward Kennedy in the U.S. Senate after the
longtime Massachusetts senator's death.
Kirk, a retired lawyer who was chairman of the national
Democratic Party from 1985 to 1989, also has rejoined the boards of
Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (HIG) and Rayonier Inc.
(RYN).
Cedar, a real-estate investment trust that primarily focuses on
redevelopment of supermarket-anchored shopping centers in the
mid-Atlantic and New England regions, earlier this month reported
it swung to a first-quarter loss, while revenue slid 2% and funds
from operations--a key profitability measure for REITs, dropped 29%
excluding write-downs and other impacts.
