DAYTON, Ohio, July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Standard Register's (NYSE:SR) Shelbyville, Indiana, plant recently received its ISO 9001:2000 registration, a signal that this Standard Register rotary forms plant meets the established international standards for quality assurance. The ISO 9000 Standards are produced by an international consensus, with the aim of creating global standards of product and service quality. "All of our plants follow strict quality procedures," said Tom Furey, vice president and general manager of Standard Register's Document and Label Solutions group. "But ISO Registration gives current and future customers the extra level of assurance that Standard Register follows 'best in class' manufacturing procedures, which result in consistent, high quality output." This Quality Management System has internal checks and balances that verify critical customer quality needs. The system involves every department within the facility that affects the quality of a customer's product or service. The system also requires a feedback loop to make sure that continuous improvements are being made, not only to this system, but in the way that customer quality issues are addressed and resolved. The Shelbyville Plant, which produces custom sheet products and Zipset(R) multiply forms for healthcare and financial services customers, joins six other Standard Register facilities that are already registered: Dayton, Ohio; Salisbury, Md.; Tampa, Fla.; Sacramento, Calif.; Radcliff, Ky.; and Murfreesboro, Tenn. Additionally, three other Standard Register facilities in Arkansas, Pennsylvania and Vermont are currently pursuing ISO registration.
