Eglinton Arms the First Hotel in Scotland to Select The Best Western GB Two Way Interface With SoftBrands

PR Newswire (US)
READING, England, March 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SoftBrands,
Inc. (NYSE Alternext: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise
application software, today announced that the Eglinton Arms Hotel,
located in the historic village of Eaglesham, is the first hotel in
Scotland to select SoftBrands' Medallion property management system
(PMS) with a two-way interface to the Best Western GB LYNX
reservation system. The Eglinton Arms has applied for Best Western
membership so the two-way interface was key when choosing a
software provider. SoftBrands is one of only three providers
selected by Best Western GB to offer PMS solutions containing the
two-way interface to the Best Western GB membership. SoftBrands is
the first company to implement this two-way interface. Although
there are more than 20 properties in Scotland using other
SoftBrands solutions without the Best Western GB two-way interface,
the Eglinton Arms will be the first hotel in Scotland to benefit
from the efficiencies that the two-way interface provides. This
interface allows automatic delivery of data with real time updates
between the Medallion PMS and the Best Western LYNX reservation
system, saving countless hours of manual labour while providing the
opportunity to increase occupancy and revPAR. "We are in the
process of renovating the hotel and wanted to upgrade our systems
after refurbishing the property. We have applied for Best Western
GB membership at The Eglinton Arms Hotel so a PMS with a proven
interface into their reservation system was very important.
SoftBrands has a strong presence within the Best Western GB
community and a well respected reputation in Scotland." said Trevor
Paterson, managing director for the Eglinton Arms Hotel.
"SoftBrands' longstanding relationships in the Scottish hotel
industry, including the support we've provided over the years
through a variety of partner relationships, have given us an
understanding of local hospitality requirements. That knowledge,
combined with technology solutions such as the Best Western LYNX
two-way interface, allows us to help the Eglinton Arms and other
hotels grow their business," said Matthew Willacy, Best Western GB
account manager for SoftBrands Hospitality. About Eglinton Arms The
