Wimbledon's staff closed the 1,100 metric-ton roof for the first time in competition on Monday, June 29th after rain stopped play during the second set of a match at Center Court. The Wimbledon Retractable Roof consists of two sections which deploy 56,000 square feet of fabric above Centre Court.
