Antonio Brufau, the executive chairman of Repsol YPF SA
(REP.MC), is holding talks with potential shareholders in Qatar,
during the World Petroleum Congress in Doha, reports Expansion in
its Wednesday Internet edition.
Repsol is looking to help Sacyr Vallehermoso SA (SYV.MC), its
largest shareholder with a 20% stake, to sell about half of its
stake in the oil company.
Among the potential buyers are China Petroleum & Chemical
Corp. (SNP), or Sinopec, India's Essar Energy (ESSR.LN), Colombia's
Ecopetrol (EC), Italy's Eni SpA (E), as well as Arab funds such as
Qatar Holding.
