Central Sun Mining Inc. ("Central Sun" or the "Company") (TSX: CSM)(TSX: CSM.WT)(AMEX: SMC) announces that the proposed US$22.5 million term loan facility (see Press Release dated September 10, 2008) has been declined by the financial institution. Recent conditions in the global financial markets which have deteriorated significantly resulted in the loan being declined.

Peter Tagliamonte, President and CEO commented, "Central Sun is disappointed that the financial institution was unable, due to the current global financial situation, to lend to the Orosi project. We are in the process of implementing our backup plan of action and will be explaining this to the market by press release in the coming days."
