NIF.UN Noranda Income Fund

Noranda Income Fund (the "Fund") (TSX:NIF.UN) announced today that Yvan Jost has
been appointed to the Board of Noranda Operating Trust ("Board").


Yvan Jost joined GlencoreXstrata plc ("Glencore") in March 2013 as an Asset
Manager. Prior to joining Glencore, he was employed in the investment management
industry, where he focused on investments in industrial businesses. Prior to
that, he was a Management Consultant with Arthur D. Little Inc.'s strategy and
organization practice. Yvan Jost has a degree in Business Administration from
University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.


Yvan Jost will be joining Chris Eskdale and Dirk Vollrath whose appointments
were announced in December 2013, as the Glencore representatives on the Board.


John J. Swidler, Chairman of the Board, welcomes the appointment of Yvan Jost.
His expertise will be an important contribution to the Board and to the Fund.


John Whyte resigned from the Board on February 28, 2014. John J. Swidler
acknowledges and thanks him for his valuable contribution to the Board.


Noranda Income Fund is an income trust whose units trade on the Toronto Stock
Exchange under the symbol "NIF.UN". Noranda Income Fund owns the electrolytic
zinc processing facility and ancillary assets (the "Processing Facility")
located in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec. The Processing Facility is the
second-largest zinc processing facility in North America and the largest zinc
processing facility in eastern North America, where the majority of zinc
customers are located. It produces refined zinc metal and various by-products
from sourced zinc concentrates. The Processing Facility is operated and managed
by Canadian Electrolytic Zinc Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Glencore
Canada Corporation.
