Simulator Training to Improve Effectiveness of Police Force
Helicopter Crews
ST. JOHN'S,
Newfoundland and Labrador,
May 14,
2014 /CNW/ - Bluedrop Training & Simulation, a
division of Bluedrop Performance Learning, today announced that it
has been awarded a contract to provide a reconfigurable helicopter
crew training simulator to the Colombian National Police Force.
This contract represents the first South American simulator sale
for the division. The Colombian National Police will use this
simulator to train their helicopter crews in difficult procedures
on the ground instead of conducting in-flight training, improving
performance, increasing safety and saving money.
KEY FACTS:
- Bluedrop Performance Learning has been building customized and
innovative solutions for the public and private sectors for 30+
years.
- The simulator allows for the creation of complex and dynamic
scenarios – such as hostile threats and bad weather – that would be
too dangerous to train for using the actual aircraft.
- The simulator combines a reconfigurable airframe mockup,
virtual reality tracking and simulation software, supplied by
partner Virtual Simulations Systems Pty, in a cost-effective and
flexible system that can adapt quickly to changing needs.
SUPPORTING QUOTE:
- Emad
Rizkalla, founder and CEO of Bluedrop Performance
Learning, said:
"Helicopter use is a critical aspect of the Colombian National
Police Force's duties. Realistic training can make the difference
between life and death for the Force as well as those they serve
and protect. However, that training itself can prove dangerous and
costly. Bluedrop's training product provides the simulated
situations the Force needs to gain skills while eliminating the
expense and danger of in-flight training."
