Wide array of entertainment options at your
fingertips coming soon
MONTREAL, Oct. 8, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Extenway
Solutions Inc. ("Extenway") (TSXV: EY) is pleased to announce that
the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute (IUCPQ)[*] has chosen its
bedside terminals to provide a better experience for patients in
care at the university hospital. As of January 2015, patients occupying the institute's
285 beds will have a wide array of entertainment options available
at their fingertips.
The range of entertainment options made possible by the bedside
terminal's ultra-modern technology includes internet access, movies
on demand, radio and games online, audiobooks, videoconferencing
with family members and access to digital TV.
"Besides the advantages of modern entertainment systems, our
users can also learn more about the care and services we provide.
This technology platform also makes it possible for clinicians to
access patient records, along with enabling other applications,"
said Heart and Lung Institute director general Michel Delamarre.
"This new, more up-to-date terminal, will deliver a much wider
range of communications and entertainment options for patients,"
said Jean Méthot, executive director of the IUCPQ Foundation. "We
feel absolutely sure that the extensive range of options provided
will also help our foundation boost its income through royalties on
the rental of the equipment, and increase our support for the Heart
and Lung Institute and its mission, as a result."
Extenway president and CEO John
McAllister says he is personally delighted to have signed
the agreement with the IUCPQ. "The Heart and Lung Institute's vote
of confidence in our solution is a real source of pride and
motivation. We're very excited about this new partnership, which
will let us place a modern and innovative service within the reach
of all patients at the institute." McAllister, adding that this
contract will be executed in partnership with IBM.
