("Knightscove") is introducing a new look for all of its reporting
business units as well as a new corporate website being unveiled
January 19th, 2011.
With an eye to the future, Knightscove Media's emblematic icon,
a spread-winged eagle will be incorporated into all operating
divisions' print and marketing applications. Each business unit
will be defined with a different color, signifying diversity while
strengthening the singular corporate look with the continuity of
the eagle icon in flight.
KNIGHTSCOVE FAMILY FILMS INC. (KFF), the film production
division recently completed a $7.5M theatrical movie SOPHIE, a
heartwarming family release starring Brittany Bristow and John Rhys
Davies of Lord of the Rings fame, slated to hit theatres mid-August
2011. With a full development slate in the works, KFF recently
signed a co-production deal with Entertainment One for the
television series PORT HOPE and is in partnership with South
Africa's Triosphere on a hosted 'tween' series exploring the animal
kingdom and rich culture of South Africa. The Company's Viking
saga, VALHALLA is in the works as is DANCING IN THE SHADOW OF MAO
and TRUST.
KNIGHTSCOVE@HOME, (K@H) the DVD/Home Entertainment division
continues to represent a very strong, much in demand catalogue,
including the perennial favourite, A CHRISTMAS CAROL with ALISTAIR
SIM, classic British comedy including the entire collection of
CARRY ON & DOCTOR films, a great selection of PARAMOUNT studio
classics, SPIDERMAN, THOR & a host of additional action hero
titles, as well as some of the best CBC programs and features
available; CANADA: A PEOPLES HISTORY, THE GEOLOGIC JOURNEY, RON
JAMES, MR. DRESSUP & THE GREATEST CANADIAN, to name a few.
Additions to this eclectic mix include many new independent studios
and titles with great marquee value; THE GENIUS WITHIN, THE INNER
LIFE OF GLENN GOULD about legendary Canadian pianist Glen Gould and
his internationally acclaimed musical virtuosity, the highly
anticipated DVD collection series EARTH FROM ABOVE photographed by
the famed YANN ARTHUS-BERTRAND, CHARLIE & BOOTS, a
heart-warming 'road movie' featuring PAUL HOGAN (Crocodile Dundee)
slated for a late Spring release, the hit NBC children's program
TURBO DOGS, and the KINGS OF PASTRY, a film by highly acclaimed
directors Chris Hegedus and D.A Pennebaker (The War Room &
Don't Look Back). K@H is actively expanding its' library and
anticipates even more significant acquisition announcements in the
coming months, such as the recently announced CGI feature,
HEATHCLIFF, BAD KITTY, which will be a fall 2011 theatrical
release.
KNIGHT TV (KTV) as previously announced January 4th has inked a
supply deal with KCET, (former PBS station in Los Angeles) with a
three hour block of children & family programming. This
distribution in Southern California coupled with KnightTV's VOD
service carried on Cox, Dish and Charter systems across America now
reaches 16.6mil households. By launching within KCET's branded
environment, Knightscove is building bridges for a sustainable and
long term economically viable business model with like-minded
programmers. KnightTV also holds the Canadian broadcast rights for
HEATHCLIFF, BAD KITTY and the North American broadcast rights to
CHARLIE & BOOTS.
Knightscove Ellis International (KEC) is the newest member of
the group as Knightscove recently closed the acquisition of the 600
title library of 46 year-old Ellis Entertainment, Canada's longest
standing indie TV production house. With 10 properties produced in
HiDef since 2002, the library includes the PROFILES OF NATURE
series, with over 200 episodes broadcast in 120 countries over 20
years, and over 100 international awards to its credit. The new
division will be continuing its distribution and creation of
family-oriented programming across the spectrum from factual to
dramatic. Currently in development are a new hosted nature series
co-produced in South Africa and a series based on MYSTERIOUS RUINS,
which recently had its worldwide premiere on Shaw Media's History
Television.
