- Vancouver Lift & Co. Cannabis Expo,
Canada's first post-legalization
cannabis tradeshow, featured 60% more exhibitors than previous year
and welcomed more than 18,000 attendees -
TORONTO, Jan. 16, 2019 /CNW/ - Lift & Co. Corp. (TSXV:
LIFT) ("Lift & Co." or the "Company") is pleased to
announce the successful results of the Company's 3rd
annual sold-out Vancouver Lift & Co. Cannabis Business
Conference and Lift & Co. Expo ("Vancouver LCBC" and "Vancouver
Expo," respectively), which took place during January 10-13, 2019. Canada's first post-legalization cannabis
event included the following highlights:
- Attendance increased to over 18,000, up 30% from last year's
Vancouver Expo, while the Vancouver LCBC was sold-out for the
second straight year, drawing a 55% increase to 688 ticket
sales;;
- The number of exhibitors increased by 100 from last year's
Vancouver Expo to 268, an increase of 60%;
- The weekend featured over 150 of the industry's top
thought-leaders for keynote and panel discussions;
- Total showfloor square footage increased to 162,000 square
feet, up 90% from 85,000 square feet during last year's Vancouver
Expo.
"Every year this event brings an increasing number of consumers
together with licensed businesses to discover products and brands.
This year with legalization, we saw more new companies than
ever choose Lift & Co. as the channel to introduce their
products to the market. It's just a sign of what's to come in
Toronto this June and beyond,"
said Matei Olaru, CEO, Lift &
Co.
This year's Vancouver Expo demonstrated the value of the Lift
& Co. Cannabis Expo to the industry. With a recent Ipsos survey
showing that only 11% of Canadians surveyed could name the cannabis
brand that they use, brand building was front and centre for
companies looking to connect with consumers. Exhibitors spent
significant marketing dollars – some investing over $100,000 in a booth buildout – to increase their
activation impact with attendees. Simultaneously, licensed
producers and other cannabis companies leveraged their booths to
prominently display their 2018 Canadian Cannabis Award award-wins
as a differentiator.
Cannabis legalization has created a new consumer packaged goods
industry hampered by regulatory restrictions that prevent effective
brand differentiation and limit customer insights for both
producers and retailers. The Company's Event Marketing solutions,
including the Vancouver Expo, are becoming increasingly critical to
the industry for brand awareness and differentiation. The next Lift
& Co. Cannabis Business Conference and Lift & Co. Expo
takes place June 6-9, 2019 downtown
Toronto, Ontario.
