MONTREAL, July 7, 2015
/CNW Telbec/ - PyroGenesis Canada Inc.
(http://pyrogenesis.com) (TSXV: PYR), a TSX Venture 50® clean-tech
company (the "Company" or "PyroGenesis") that designs, develops,
manufactures and commercializes plasma waste-to-energy systems and
plasma torch products, announced today that it has shipped its
second commercial Marine Plasma Waste Destruction System for the US
Navy (the "System") to the shipyard in charge of ship construction.
The System is to be installed on the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy (CVN 79).
As previously announced, PyroGenesis' client, Newport News
Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, visited
PyroGenesis three (3) times this past fall. The purpose of these
visits was not only to perform quality inspections of the System
before accepting delivery, but also to discuss future onboard
support services with PyroGenesis.
"We are very proud of this accomplishment" said Pierre Carabin, Director of Engineering of
PyroGenesis. "We are looking forward to continuing to support our
customer for the operation and maintenance of this System and
future systems."
"It is indeed an honor to supply our high-tech, products to such
a prestigious client as the US Navy. It speaks to our credibility
as an innovator with proven capability of introducing plasma
processes to high value niche markets who, until now, have not had
the benefit of such innovation," said P.
Peter Pascali, President and CEO of PyroGenesis. "Our
success to date, as exemplified by our relationship with the US
Navy, is testimony to the fact that PyroGenesis is at the cutting
edge of taking plasma out of the lab and finding commercial
applications for its use. Thanks to PyroGeness, plasma is no longer
a process looking for an application."
