/CNW/ - Pure Multi-Family REIT LP ("Pure Multi-Family") (TSXV:
RUF.U, RUF.UN, RUF.DB.U; OTCQX: PMULF) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr. Maurice (Maish)
Kagan as an independent director to the Board of Directors
(the "Board") of Pure Multi-Family REIT (GP) Inc., the governing
general partner of Pure Multi-Family, effective immediately.
Mr. Kagan is currently the President of Canal Group, a
residential and commercial property holding company.
Previously, Mr. Kagan was Chief Executive Officer and owner of
Sparkle Solutions Inc., a route operator servicing over 13,000
laundry machines serving the multi-residential housing industry in
Canada. Sparkle Solutions Inc. was
acquired by a U.S. based laundry operator in 2013.
In 1997, Mr. Kagan spearheaded the launch of Residential
Equities Real Estate Investment Trust ("RESREIT"), and acted as its
Chief Financial Officer until its sale to Canadian Apartment
Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: CAR.UN) in 2003.
Prior to 1997, Mr. Kagan was the Chief Financial Officer of the
Greenwin Group, a company that managed over 20,000 apartment units
in Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Kagan is currently a Director of Kew Media Group (TSX: KEW)
and Cliffside Capital Ltd. (TSXV: CEP).
Mr. Kagan was previously a board member for InterRent REIT (TSX
– IIP.UN), and he acted as Chair of the Audit Committees of both
Carfinco Financial Group Inc., a lender in the automotive sector
throughout Canada, and Lonestar
West Inc. a company providing hydro vac, vacuum and water truck
services across North America.
Mr. Kagan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa in 1981, has a Bachelor of
Commerce from the University of Cape
Town, and has a certificate in the Theory of
Accountancy.

Board. He brings a depth of financial, audit, corporate governance
and real estate expertise and his experience as both public company
executive and board member will further enhance our existing depth
