Canadian Spirit Resources Inc. ("CSRI" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:SPI)
(OTCBB:CSPUF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alfred Sorensen as Chief
Executive Officer ("CEO") of the Corporation effective immediately. On April 2,
2012 the Corporation announced that Mr. Sorensen had been appointed Interim CEO
and he will now assume this role on a permanent basis.


Don Gardner, former CEO, will remain a director of the Corporation and will be
available in an advisory capacity to assist in the implementation of the
Corporation's strategic plan.


Commenting on the appointment, George Watson, Chairman stated "Alfred brings an
international perspective to CSRI and a wealth of experience in the natural gas
industry. He has a mandate to improve the financial strength of CSRI and to
pursue opportunities that have the potential to enhance the value of the
Corporation's large, strategically located resource base".


CSRI is a natural resources company focusing on the identification and
development of opportunities in the unconventional gas sector of the energy
