VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA is pleased to announce that drilling
has commenced at the Golden Progress and Joker Gold Projects in New
Zealand.
Golden Progress (75% Underworld Resources)
At the Golden Progress gold project near Oturehua in Central
Otago, a program of core and reverse circulation drilling is
underway. The target is high grade gold mineralization at each of
Great Eastern, Golden Progress, West of England and Dover reefs
typified by steeply dipping mesothermal quartz veins. The Great
Eastern and Golden Progress mines saw production in the late 1800's
and early 1900's. Production grades reported in historic literature
at Golden Progress are cited to be 48.8 g/t Au(1). Total documented
production from the Golden Progress Mine was 4,990 ounces(2).

Recent work by Underworld has included surface geological
mapping, grid soil sampling and rehabilitating the historic
workings to allow underground sampling. Underground sampling at the
Great Eastern prospect returned gold grades averaging 5.6 g/t over
21m at a width of 0.3 - 0.5m. At two other locations within the
Great Eastern workings grab samples from exposed quartz vein
material in old workings ran 42.9 and 76.5 g/t Au. Approximately
1,500 meters of combined core and reverse circulation drilling will
be completed.
Joker Project (50% Underworld Resources)
A program of reverse circulation drilling has commenced at the
Joker gold project near Thames, North Island targeting epithermal
gold mineralization similar to Newmont's nearby Martha mine. The
Joker vein extends for at least 300m (but could be up to 1.5km)
along a north east trend and the vertical extent has been traced
for 80m.
Small scale gold mining was carried out in this area in the late
1800's with total historic production unknown. Underworld completed
a program of 11.5 line kilometers of gradient array IP ground
geophysics at Joker in November 2007 to assist planning of the
proposed drill program. Sampling of material from limited access to
old adits returned grades of 17.9 and 2.15 g/t Au. Approximately
750m of reverse circulation drilling is planned.
White Gold and Black Fox (100% Underworld Resources)
At the White Gold and Black Fox gold projects south of Dawson in
Yukon Territory, planning is underway for a $1 million exploration
program. The 2000 meter drill program is expected to commence in
mid-June 2008.
A vigorous program of geological mapping, sampling, IP
geophysics and trenching was undertaken by Underworld on these
properties in the summer of 2007. At the White prospect one trench
returned 1.8 g/t Au over 40m including 9.9 g/t Au over 5m. A second
trench returned 1.3 g/t Au over 37.5m including 4.7 g/t Au over 5m.
At Black Fox grab samples at the Thistle Vein graded up to 10.1 g/t
Au while a 30cm wide vein returned 9.6 and 17.7 g/t Au (see UW NR#2
dated February 12th, 2008).
The 2007 Exploration Program was supervised by Adrian Fleming,
M.A.I.G., RPGeo, M.Aus.I.M.M., President of Underworld Resources
and a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. Mr. Fleming
prepared and approves of the content of this release.
Underworld Resources is a well-structured junior exploration
company targeting base and precious metals in the Americas and New
Zealand.
