Casino Guichard-Perrachon SA (CO.FR) on Thursday backed its full-year guidance as it swung to a loss in the first half.

The French retailer said net loss for the period was 16 million euros ($17.8 million) compared with a profit of EUR46 million last year.

Sales for the first half rose 3.5% to EUR17.84 billion, the company said.

Casino confirmed a new debt target in France of less than EUR1.5 billion at the end of 2020 and beyond, and said it won't pay a dividend in 2020.
