Net Medical Xpress Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB: NMXS), a leader in the telemedicine market, announced today that the University of New Mexico has agreed to provide expanded neuro-specialist and neuro-surgery coverage in New Mexico using Net Medical's emerging technology. There are approximately 25 rural hospitals in New Mexico that have limited specialist availability and this partnership will help alleviate the effects of that shortage.

Dr. Howard Yonas, M.D., Chair and Chief Neurosurgeon at UNM, said, "There is a great need for consultation with ER doctors in emergency rooms throughout the State of New Mexico. With the improved ability to see and talk with patients and their physicians as well as review all of their studies, UNM specialists will be better able to help guide care. Stroke and head trauma are common problems that need rapid decision making with many patients benefiting from care that can be provided locally and some that need rapid transfer to our center. Our growing team of cerebrovascular experts from neurology and neurosurgery constitute a new Center of Cerebrovascular Care that will be better able to guide care throughout the state while initiating a cost savings. This unique connection has been made possible through our joining with Net Medical, a New Mexico-based company."

Dr. David McCraney, Chief Neurologist, Net Medical, said, "Dr. Yonas has helped bring an outstanding team of specialists from neurology led by Dr. Gary Rosenberg and Dr. Branko Huisa Garate, from neuro-critical care led by Dr. Mark Malkoff and from neurosurgery." Consultations will be made available 24/7 through Net Medical.

Dick Govatski, CEO, Net Medical, said, "This is an important development for us. This arrangement will materially expand the usage of our telemedicine program in rural hospitals statewide in New Mexico. The University of New Mexico will be providing additional physician services, and will be able to help rural hospitals with optional educational training, stroke certification, and quality assurance programs. Net Medical's hardware, software and services solution will be a key factor to the success of UNM's stroke intervention outreach."
