STOCKHOLM--Sandvik AB (SAND.SK) on Monday said it's mining business has been awarded a major materials handling contract to South Africa.

The Swedish company, which makes tools for customers in the mining, construction and energy sectors, said the value of the contract exceeds 600 million Swedish kronor ($70.9 million) and was booked in the second quarter of 2015. It will be executed and contribute to Sandvik Mining's business for the period of the years 2015 until 2017.

At 1403 GMT, Sandvik shares were down 0.8% at SEK91.45
