Klabin’s new pulp mill to supply domestic market, says CEO
SAO PAULO , July 27, 2012 (RISI) - Klabin's CEO, Fábio Schvartsman, said during the company's second quarter results conference call with analysts that the 1.5 million tonnes/yr pulp mill the group is planning to build at Ortigueira city, Paraná state, will focus on the Brazilian domestic market and substitute imports. The executive also said that Klabin's plan is to only own the forests as it is looking for investors. "The great news is that this project has characteristics that depend less on the world economy, as its main market is Brazil. We have room for import substitution and the market is available," he stated.
