AVP, Inc. (OTCBB:AVPI) (www.avp.com), a lifestyle sports
entertainment company focused on professional beach volleyball,
today announced a five-year agreement with the Australian
Volleyball Federation (AVF) to expand internationally into
Australia. The deal grants the AVP the license to operate and
promote the annual AVF tour and brings together the top beach
volleyball organizations from two countries that are established as
leaders in the development of the sport. The five-year deal
automatically renews at the end of the term upon AVP meeting
certain performance milestones. The 2008 tour schedule includes
five events in prominent beach locations throughout Australia:
January 25-27, 2008 - Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) (Queensland)
February 8-10, 2008 - Manly Beach (Sydney) (New South Wales)
February 15-17, 2008 - Port Macquarie (New South Wales) March 7-9,
2008 - Perth (Scarborough Beach) (Western Australia) March 21-23,
2008 - Adelaide (Glenelg) (South Australia) At stake for players in
2008 is top prize money, an opportunity to play in iconic Australia
beach locations, and the chance to be affiliated with one of the
top sporting events in Australia. The number of events is slated to
increase in 2009 as the tour expects to grow in prominence thanks
to the relationship with the AVP. We are very excited to extend
the AVPs reach internationally and bring the AVP beach volleyball
experience to Australian sports fans, reflecting the increasing
international popularity of beach volleyball we are seeing, said
AVP CEO Leonard Armato. We thank the AVF for inviting our
partnership. We believe this tour will become a regular event and
mainstay in the Australian sports and beach-lifestyle landscape.
The AVP is a strong partner to promote our sport, and the AVF
appreciates the willingness of the AVP to join us in promoting
beach volleyball in Australia, said Chris Schacht, AVF President.
We look forward to a successful partnership and to the AVP
assisting us in reinvigorating the beach volleyball tour in
Australia. About AVP, Inc. AVP, Inc. is a leading lifestyle sports
