DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) announced today that it received an order from the U.S. Army�s Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM), Fort Monmouth, N.J., for the initial phase of the Jordan Border Security Program. In conjunction with the U.S. Army, DRS will provide the Jordan Armed Forces with an end-to-end border security system for a section of Jordan�s border. In addition, the company will design a nation-wide border security architecture. DRS will also provide post delivery, maintenance, logistics and training support of the system. The work for this award will be accomplished by the company�s DRS Command, Control and Communications (C3) Systems unit in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The DRS solution will provide communications connectivity between the Distant Sentry� towers and mobile and fixed Command and Control (C2) Centers. Within the C2 Centers, DRS will provide software and computing systems, situational awareness displays and connectivity to the Jordan Armed Forces command and control infrastructure. The C3 business develops, manufactures and supports a wide range of defense and homeland security systems, including communications, displays, radar, sonar and integrated command and control solutions for ground vehicle, airborne and maritime, as well as solutions for industrial, security and public safety applications.
