Balisle, USN (Ret.) has been named Executive Vice President and will lead the company�s Washington Operations in Arlington, VA. Since joining DRS, Admiral Balisle has served as senior vice president of DRS� maritime strategic plans and programs, where he oversaw all aspects of strategic planning for maritime programs associated with the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and homeland defense, ensuring the company�s maritime programs and technologies were supported by and aligned with the plans of the Naval services. �Since coming to DRS, Phil�s leadership, knowledge and understanding of both the military and government sectors has greatly enhanced DRS� presence in the government and customer communities,� said Mark Newman, chairman, president and chief executive officer of DRS Technologies. �His extensive experience will provide key support to the company�s long-term goals for growth and will provide strong support to DRS� business initiatives in the future.� Prior to joining the company, Admiral Balisle had a distinguished 36-year career with the U.S. Navy, including assignments as Commander, Abraham Lincoln Battle Group, Director, Theatre Air Warfare, Director, Surface Warfare on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations and Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command. Admiral Balisle serves on the board of directors of the Washington Chapter of the U.S. Navy League. He is a lifetime member of the Surface Navy Association and is the recipient of numerous military awards, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medals.
