Eni SpA said Thursday that it has signed an agreement with Equinor ASA to possibly develop an offshore wind project in the Utsira Nord area in Norway.

The Italian oil-and-gas major said it would prepare and submit an application to the Norwegian authorities, who are currently working on the licensing process of two areas for offshore renewables--Utsira Nord and Sorlige Nordsjo II.

The collaboration agreement was signed through Vargronn, the Norwegian renewable-energy company established by Eni and HitecVision AS.
