Shares in CAP-XX fell Tuesday after Tesla lodged a complaint against the company in the U.S. District Court, alleging that it infringed two patents, while a trial date for an existing patent infringement action against Maxwell Technologies was delayed.

Shares at 0938 GMT were down 0.28 pence, or 19%, at 1.15 pence.

The London-listed Australia-based maker of thin, prismatic supercapacitors said it intended to strenuously defend the action in relation to the Tesla matter, adding that it will make further announcements as appropriate.

The Maxwell trial date has been moved to Dec. 11 from July 24 due to an expert witness for Maxwell passing away, CAP-XX said.

"The CAP-XX board remains optimistic of the company's prospects in this matter," the company said.
