US Airways Cancels Flights Due to Hurricane Frances Customers Have the Full Month of September to Re-book and Travel ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways has cancelled approximately 135 flights today and approximately 160 flights tomorrow to and from airports in Florida and the Bahamas affected by Hurricane Frances. US Airways and US Airways Express flights to the Islands of the Bahamas have been cancelled today, with some cancellations expected tomorrow as well. The airline will continue to monitor weather and local conditions to determine when service can safely resume this weekend. Service has also been suspended to and from the following Florida airports: * Fort Lauderdale: Closed from 10 a.m., Sept. 3 until at least noon, Sept. 5 * Miami: Closed from 11:45 a.m. Sept. 3 until at least noon, Sept. 5 * Orlando: Closed from noon, Sept. 3 until at least noon, Sept. 6 * West Palm Beach: Closed from 9:25 a.m., Sept. 3 until at least noon, Sept. 5 Customers with confirmed itineraries for travel through Sept. 7, 2004, to and from Florida and the Bahamas, as well as to Providenciales and San Juan, can make changes to their itineraries any time this month by calling 1-800-428-4322. Rescheduled travel must originate by Sept. 30, 2004. US Airways will waive the standard change fee and advance reservation and ticketing requirements.
