PR Newswire (US)
POTOMAC, Md., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Natural gas service to more
than 600 Washington Gas customers in Potomac, Md., has been
temporarily disrupted due to an equipment failure. Washington Gas
technicians are on site, working to address the problem and restore
full service to its customers as quickly as possible. During this
outage Washington Gas reminds all customers never to use a
gasoline-powered generator, fuel-burning appliance or charcoal
grill for heating inside their home. Fuel-burning appliances and
heaters can generate deadly carbon monoxide. Customers are also
asked to avoid warming their homes with candles or portable
heaters, which could cause a fire. According to the U.S. Consumer
Product Safety Commission, portable heaters, including space
heaters, are the most common cause of residential structure fires.
If you have a gas emergency, please leave the area and call
Washington Gas at 703-750-1400, or, if you feel in danger, call
911. Washington Gas will inform the public immediately when service
is restored. Stay tuned to local radio and TV stations for more
information. Washington Gas appreciates your patience and
understanding, and apologizes for any inconvenience. DATASOURCE:
