Tournament Next Month in San Diego, California COLUMBUS, Ohio, July
3 /PRNewswire/ -- After 14 rounds of fierce competition, the
Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) now has its National Champion.
Defeating over 700 of the nation's best Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG players,
16-year-old Adam Corn from Los Angeles has not only been recognized
as the "best of the nation's best," but as the official "Yu-Gi-Oh!
TCG U.S. National Champion." Corn is one of four Duelists
representing the United States in next month's Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World
Championship Tournament in San Diego, California. The three other
finalists who will be accompanying Corn to represent the U.S. in
the 2007 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship Tournament are Bryan
Rockenbach, 15, of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Justin Womack, 15, of
Kenosha, Wisconsin; and Michael Bueno, 14, of Daly City,
California. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship event will be held
on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29 as a part of Comic-Con
International in San Diego, California. The intense competition --
held over two days in Columbus, Ohio (June 23 and 24) -- not only
attracted the largest attendance for a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG National
Championship event, but was also a true nationwide event,
attracting players from all around the U.S. who came to Columbus
from as far as Hawaii, Texas, Alaska, California, New York and
Florida, to name a few. All national tournament participants earned
a spot to compete in the event by competing and winning previous
tournaments in their various regions. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a game
of strategy, where players create individual decks of cards
collected from Structure Decks and Booster Packs. Two players
engage in a duel while using cards that represent powerful
Monsters, magical Spells and surprising Traps. Duelists with
well-constructed decks, dominating monsters, solid strategy and
good fortune are the victors in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. The Yu-Gi-Oh!
TCG is a product of the KONAMI CORPORATION, and is distributed
worldwide (with the exception of Asia) by the Upper Deck Company.
