Unmatched Price BEAVERTON, Ore., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix,
Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and
monitoring instrumentation, announced new value waveform monitors
and rasterizers that offer the best price / performance in the
industry and leading ease of use. The WFM4000 and WFM5000 waveform
monitors and WVR4000 and WVR5000 rasterizers monitor video and
audio content efficiently and effectively. The new units enable
editors and operators to quickly and easily verify and adjust video
and audio content from multiple signal sources. The 4000 Series
supports standard definition (SD) video and the 5000 Series
supports both SD and high definition (HD). Both new series models
offer the capabilities customers most need at an affordable price,
and provide the high quality of Tektronix. With growing worldwide
adoption of HD, customers desire affordable HD waveform monitoring
products. Affordability aids local broadcasters and others with
limited budgets to obtain much needed functionality. Additionally,
the WFM models operate on an industry standard 12v battery and are
designed for field deployment including an optional carrying case
and bright, LED backlit display. Whether for a master control room,
studio, editing bay, or an outside broadcast truck, the new
portable Tektronix waveform monitors and rasterizers provide
simplicity, efficiency, and affordability. "Customers have been
telling us that they need Tektronix video and audio monitoring
quality and capability in an affordable and portable package," said
Arif Kareem, Vice President and General Manager, Video Product
Line, Tektronix. "The new 4000 and 5000 Series waveform monitors
and rasterizers provide the leading features that customers most
need, with excellent performance and Tektronix quality, and at a
price they will find attractive." The new models share a similar
user interface and menu structure with higher performance Tektronix
waveform monitors, including the award winning WFM7120. All of the
new models include 16 channels of embedded audio support and one
AES audio input (2 channels) as standard capabilities and all
provide exclusive Tektronix Gamut Displays (Diamond, Split Diamond,
and Arrowhead) and CRT-like waveform quality to ensure compliant
video content. The form factor for the WFM4000 and WFM5000 waveform
monitors is 3RU and 1/2 rack width; 1RU and 1/2 rack width for the
WVR4000 and WVR5000 rasterizers. Both WFM models are packaged in
short depth enclosures, enabling these units to fit into virtually
any equipment rack of an outside broadcast (OB) van or truck. The
WFM4000 and WFM5000 Models operate on 12V DC in and work with a
standard camera battery for field portability, and both provide a
new, bright XGA LED backlit display that works as well outdoors as
indoors. The display is brighter than those of any competing
product and also offers a much better viewing angle. Portability
aids field production staff to more effectively monitor and adjust
content quality in various environments. "We've had the opportunity
to use the new 4000 and 5000 Series waveform monitors and
rasterizers from Tektronix and found them to be an exceptional fit
for our needs," said Mr. Werner Reese, Managing Director, Studio
Berlin Adlershof GmbH. "Studio Berlin Adlershof is a German System
Integrator enabling key productions in Hamburg and Berlin. As such,
we have a variety of needs ranging from functionality and ease of
use, to form factor for our broadcast trucks, field portability, HD
capabilities, and affordability. The new Tektronix waveform
monitors and rasterizers are a compelling match for our needs in
all of these categories." Pricing and Availability The new 4000 SD
Series and 5000 SD/HD Series models are available for order. U.S.
MSRP begins at $5,150 for the WVR4000 and range up to $6,750 for
