SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pixelplus Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:PXPL), a fabless semiconductor company in Korea that designs, develops, and markets CMOS image sensors for consumer electronics applications, today announced that the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York granted preliminary approval of the settlement of the previously-disclosed consolidated shareholder class action lawsuit commenced against the Company and certain of its current and former officers and directors in April 2006. The settlement is subject to final court approval. Notice of the settlement will be sent to class members, and the court hearing for final approval has been scheduled for March 19, 2009. If approved by the court, all claims against the Company and its current and former officers and directors will be dismissed with prejudice and without any admission of liability or wrongdoing. The Company and the other defendants have steadfastly maintained that the claims asserted in the class action lawsuit were without merit, and have vigorously contested those claims. As part of the settlement, the Company and other defendants continue to deny any liability or wrongdoing.
