PR Newswire (US)
SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate
"National Romance Week," which begins today, Princess Cruises has
joined with Cruise Critic (http://www.cruisecritic.com/) to conduct
a search for "real-life love stories" - tales of romance from the
decks of Princess ships. "Over the years, we've heard many romantic
stories from our passengers - everything from meeting their future
spouse onboard a Princess ship to unexpectedly reconnecting with
someone with whom they develop a new relationship - and so we're
launching a search to find as many of these heartwarming stories as
possible," said Jan Swartz, Princess' executive vice president. To
help gather these real-life love stories, the company turned to the
popular Internet cruise reviews and news website Cruise Critic to
ask its members to share their Princess love story for a chance to
be awarded a cruise. Gavin MacLeod, Princess' well-known ambassador
and member of the line's "Department of Romance," and Cruise Critic
editor-in-chief Carolyn Spencer Brown will pick their five favorite
stories from among those submitted. The Cruise Critic community
will then vote on the top five to determine the most romantic
story. The winner will receive a seven-day Princess cruise to the
Caribbean, including airfare, and the stories will also be
showcased on the Princess website. Details of the search, which
begins today and runs through August 28, can be found by visiting
http://www.cruisecritic.com/ and http://www.princess.com/romance.
The entry voted the most romantic story will be announced on Sept.
28. "These love stories are near and dear to my heart, since I met
my husband on a cruise ship," said Spencer Brown. "We know our
members are passionate about sharing their experiences on our
forums, so I'm looking forward to hearing their romantic stories.
Princess has done a great job of catering to couples of all ages
who want to start or rekindle a romance on a cruise, so I'm
expecting to hear about proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and
those wonderful 'just because' romantic moments." To read the
