investment in our plant to be better able to service our customers
for the long run and to work in a way that takes care of our
environment. These ideals are part of our Company's Guiding
Principles of Safety, Service, Quality and Innovation. Our receipt

"We want to thank Laclede for its efforts to help us achieve these
important objectives." Established in November 2008, Laclede's
commercial/industrial rebate program provides rebates to commercial
and industrial customers for the implementation of natural gas
energy-efficiency improvements, including part or all of the cost
of an energy audit used to identify rebated improvements. Beginning
in 2007, the Laclede Energy Efficiency Collaborative designed a
portfolio of cost-effective, energy-efficiency programs for
Laclede's residential, commercial and industrial customers.
"Natural gas is the original green energy, and its direct use is
better for the environment than using other non-renewable energy
sources," said Michael R. Spotanski, senior vice president of
Operations and Marketing for Laclede Gas. "Through our
energy-efficiency programs, we are encouraging our customers to
conserve this valuable energy resource for everyone and reduce
their environmental impact as much as possible." Laclede offers
energy-efficiency programs for its residential customers as well.
Over the past year Laclede has awarded rebates to more than 1,700
residential customers toward the installation of high-efficiency
furnaces, boilers and programmable thermostats. Also, as part of
its portfolio of programs aimed at assisting its customers, Laclede
provides nearly $1 million annually to community action agencies in
its service area to supplement the federal Low Income
