SNC-Lavalin Inc. (TSX: SNC) announces today the appointment of a
new executive and member of the Office of the President. After an
extensive worldwide search, Dr. Hisham
Mahmoud will assume the newly created role of Group
President, Infrastructure, effective in early 2014. Dr.
Mahmoud's role will be to oversee all global Infrastructure and
related businesses, including Transportation and Operations &
Maintenance.
Since 2010, Dr. Mahmoud has been at AMEC, where
he was Group President, Growth Regions, and prior to that,
President, Environment & Infrastructure. In his previous roles,
he was responsible for significant value creation, and developed
and implemented plans to expand the global footprint of the
business while creating significant synergies with the company's
other business units. Dr. Mahmoud joined AMEC from URS where
he played a key leadership role in their infrastructure
business.
Dr. Mahmoud has over 23 years of experience with
multinational engineering and construction companies, particularly
in the transportation, water, buildings, facilities, industrial and
commercial, environmental and government sectors. He has an
extensive background in all aspects of infrastructure services and
products globally, as well strategic growth planning and execution,
including business acquisition and integration. After obtaining his
BSc in Civil Engineering from Qatar University, Dr. Mahmoud went on to
obtain a Masters degree and PhD in Civil Engineering, both from
Arizona State University. He is a
registered Professional Engineer in several US states.
