Annual Information Update (Update) for the 12 months up to and including 31
March 2014

AngloGold Ashanti Limited ("the Company") announces that, in accordance with
the requirements of Prospectus Rule 5.2 (the Rule), the information set out in
Appendices 1 and 2 to this update has been published or made available to the
public over the previous twelve months in compliance with laws and rules
dealing with the regulation of securities, issues of securities and securities
markets:

Appendix 1 Announcements made via a Regulatory Information Service are set out
in Appendix 1. Copies of the announcements may be downloaded from the Company's
website at www.anglogoldashanti.com or by making application to the Company
Secretary at the registered address set out below.

Appendix 2 Under the Rule, documents filed at the UK Companies House must be
included in this publication. However, the Company is South African Registered
only, and therefore no filings were made at the UK Companies House.

In addition to its primary listing on the JSE Limited the Company has secondary
listings on the Australian Stock Exchange, Ghana Stock Exchange and London
Stock Exchange and the Company's ADRs are listed on the New York Stock
Exchange. The Company has submitted regulatory filings to these bodies
including the JSE Limited as appropriate. Full details of the filings can be
