                              Board Change

Compact Power today announces that Max Pearce has informed the company that he
will stand down as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 26th
August 2003.

Nic Cooper, Chairman of Compact Power said  "I would like to thank Max for the
contribution he has made during this important first phase of the Company's life
as a quoted company."

The Board of Compact Power is currently seeking a replacement non-executive
director to fill the outstanding post.
