LONG TERM INCENTIVE SHARE PLAN

The Company has granted awards of shares under the above Plan to Alastair
Murray, who joined the board of Dairy Crest as Finance Director on 8 September
2003.

Awards totalling 55,872 ordinary shares of 25p each were granted on 8 September
2003 at an overall total price of #2. The awards are exercisable from 1 April
2006 to 7 September 2016, subject to the achievement of share performance
conditions over a performance cycle ending on 31 March 2006.

Notification of the award has been made to Alastair Murray today.
