SOUTHERN VECTIS PLC ("Southern Vectis" or "the Company")

Chairman's Statement at the AGM

The Board of Southern Vectis announces that at the Annual General Meeting held
today all resolutions were duly passed.

In his statement in the annual report for the Company's last financial year,
issued on 1 July, the Chairman, Mike Killingley, said:

"The action we have taken to restructure our mainland bus network and to
mitigate further increases in pension scheme funding, together with the growth
in consultancy work and opportunities, all lead us to expect a modest
improvement in performance in the current year."

The Chairman confirmed that, in the light of trading since then, this remains
the view of the Board.
