                New Board Appointment at Heiton Group plc


The Board of Directors of Heiton Group plc is pleased to announce the
appointment of William R. Cotter as a non-executive director.  Mr. Cotter (59)
is the recently retired head of Bank of Ireland's Asset Management and
Securities Services Division.


Appointed Chief Executive of Bank of Ireland Asset Management in 1985, the
company experienced strong growth both domestically and internationally, during
his tenure.
