Amstrad plc ( "the Company")

Exercise of Share Options by Directors

The Company has been informed today that Mr M. Bland and Mr. I.Saward ,both
directors of the Company , have today each exercised options over 150,000
ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at an exercise
price of 31p per share and subsequently today sold the Ordinary Shares at a
price of 115.5p per share.

Following the exercise of the options and the sale of the Ordinary Shares Mr M
Bland has options over a further 325,000 Ordinary Shares and Mr I Saward has
options over a further 450,000 Ordinary Shares. Mr M. Bland continues to have a
beneficial interest of 20,000 Ordinary Shares representing 0.025 per cent of the
total issued Ordinary Share Capital.
