                        GRANT OF SHARE OPTIONS TO STAFF


Following the announcement on 4 September 2003 of a grant of share options to
staff, THB Group plc ("THB") today announces the grant of share options to staff
under the Company Share Option Plan 2002 over a further 1,000,000 Ordinary 10p
shares. This second award brings the total number of share options granted to
2,000,000, representing 7.55 per cent of total issued share capital.

The grant was made on 8 October 2003 at a subscription price of 134.5p per
share, being the average mid-market price for the three preceeding days. Under
the grant, exercise of the options will be permitted at any time between 8
October 2006 and 7 October 2013, conditional on compound growth in earnings per
share of 8 per cent or more per annum (excluding the effect of inflation) over
any successive three year period.

No new options were granted to directors.
