The following amendments have been made to the Holding(s) in Company
announcement released on 18 November 2003 at 07:01 under RNS No 1749S.

"BHP Billiton Limited is issuing this announcement to fulfil disclosure
obligations arising from its secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange.

The text of this release is identical to that issued by BHP Billiton Plc
earlier."

The following notification was received on 20 November 2003 by BHP Billiton Plc
in a letter from Lehman Brothers International (Europe) dated 19 November 2003
relating to an overstatement of major interests in shares of BHP Billiton Plc as
at 13 November 2003:

"S198 Companies Act

Due to the inclusion of an intercompany position in our S198 disclosure of 14th
November, 2003, we overstated our position in BHP Billiton Plc by 27,000,000
shares. Our position as at 13th was therefore in fact 137,495,598 shares, or
5.57% of the share capital of the company."

The following notification was received today by BHP Billiton Plc in a letter
from Lehman Brothers dated 14 November 2003 relating to major interests in
shares of BHP Billiton Plc as at 13 November 2003:

"S.198 Companies Act 1985 (the "Act")

We write to inform you, pursuant to s198 of the Act, that as at the close of
business on 13th November, 2003, Lehman Brothers International (Europe) had an
interest in 137,495,598 Ordinary shares of BHP Billiton Plc (the "Company").
This represents 5.57% of the outstanding share capital of the Company."
