                        Syndicate Results and Forecasts

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit"), the UK general insurance group, announces
updated forecasts for its managed Lloyd's syndicates for the 2001 and 2002 years
of account.

-  There have been no changes in our forecasts since the last quarter
   report of 26 August 2003
