Purchase of Own Securities

Associated British Ports Holdings PLC announces that, on 1 December 2003, it
purchased for cancellation 850,000 ordinary shares of 25 pence in the Company.
The price paid per ordinary share was 428.69 pence.

These shares were purchased by the Company to offset most of the new shares
issued during the second half of this financial year as the result of the
exercise of options by employees under the company's various share option
schemes.
